Terms of service

Last updated September 24, 2026

Beta notice. Synento is in beta. These terms describe the service as it is today, and a full agreement will replace them before general availability. Have your counsel review them before you rely on Synento for production workloads.

Synento provides an API for live video sessions and their recordings. It is a product of StudioD24, a business operated in Finland; “we” in these terms means StudioD24. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

You are responsible for activity under your API keys and for keeping them secret. Tell us promptly at security@synento.com if you believe a key has been exposed. Accounts require a verified email address before they can create API keys or connect an agent.

You own the video, audio and data you send through Synento. You grant us only the licence we need to store, process and deliver it in order to run the service. You are responsible for having the rights and consents to record the people in your sessions. Recording laws vary by jurisdiction, and consent is often required.

You may not use Synento to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
  • record people without the consent their jurisdiction requires;
  • distribute malware, or attack the service or other customers;
  • get around plan limits, rate limits or usage metering.

Free accounts pause when they reach their allowance, and we will not bill you unexpectedly. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance, and usage above the included allowance is billed in arrears. Prices exclude tax; any VAT or sales tax due where you are is added at checkout. If a payment fails, your account keeps working for 14 days while you update your details. After that, new sessions are paused until payment succeeds. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

Recordings are kept according to the retention policy you set for each project. Deleting a project or a session removes its durable streams and exports. Closing your account from Settings removes your data immediately; usage and billing records are kept as the law requires.

During the beta the service is provided “as is”, with no uptime commitment. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

You may stop using Synento at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, and its courts have jurisdiction over disputes. This does not take away any protection the law where you live gives you as a consumer.

We will give notice of material changes to these terms. Questions go to hello@synento.com.
